Flowers Bring The Joy To Your Day

Everyone deserves to enjoy flowers.

Flowers captivate all our senses.

They look wonderful and smell amazing, and we can’t help but reach out and feel the delicate blooms.

Giving, receiving and being around flowers lift our spirits and make us feel special.

I noticed that people were avoiding buying flowers because they didn’t see the value in buying an arrangement that faded and dropped after a couple of days.

So I use my years of knowledge in the flower industry to select blooms in combinations that last.

And put them together in beautiful arrangements that give the wow factor to your gift, home, office or event.

What’s So Special About Market Fresh Flowers, And Other Questions You Might Have

WHAT’S SO GOOD ABOUT MARKET FRESH FLOWERS?

Many florists or supermarkets hold onto flowers. So when you buy them, they’re already a few days old. Market-fresh flowers are the freshest and last the longest. I aim to sell all my flowers within 2 days of getting them from the market. So you can be sure your flowers last as long as possible.

HOW LONG SHOULD FLOWERS LAST?

This can vary from variety to variety. I strive to sell Market fresh flowers, which is why I sell out - I don’t hold stock.

When putting together my bouquets I always try and include different elements that make the arrangement last. You should be able to get 7-10 days out of the lasting aspect.

If you’re unsure of what to order and how long it will last, don’t hesitate to ask,

and I can talk you through the options

HOW CAN I HELP MY FLOWERS LAST LONGER?

Not all flowers will last the same amount of time, so it’s crucial that you change the water and remove any flowers that have past their best to ensure the others will last.

DO YOU DELIVER FLOWERS?

Yes, I do flower deliveries Auckland Wide Monday – Friday and Saturday on Request. I use dedicated floral couriers that I know and trust.

When you order, please make sure you give your phone number so the delivery company can contact the recipient in case of delivery problems.

And double check the delivery details, giving information on access to the property. If we can’t access the property your flowers might not be able to be delivered and we will still charge for this.

HOW ARE YOUR FLOWERS SO AFFORDABLE?

At Mel’s Flower truck, I’m well-practised in buying from the flower markets, having done so for the past 17 years. What I have come to realise is that people have been led to believe that flowers are unaffordable.

Sure there are some amazing flowers that are “On Trend”, and these have the price tag to match. I often look at these flowers at the market in awe as well. They have their place for weddings and events, but (for example) I’m not going to sell a single white hydrangea for $20.00. It’s just not in my ethos.

I purchase what is in season and best value. If there’s lots of it at the truck it

means it's good value. Unless it’s the middle of winter when prices always go up purely because it's hard to grow in winter. If you take note (there’s nothing in anyone’s gardens either)

Having a mobile flower truck also allows me to keep my overheads down, and I’ll be there in all weather to keep flowers affordable for you.

I also wrap in brown paper to keep costs down; at the end of the day, it’s the

flowers that should be the focus, not the wrap, as it often goes straight in the bin. I want all people to be able to enjoy flowers and not have to spend a fortune.
